American Bully, Current on Shots, 50lb,

Big Rig is a double Cleftie (lip & palate). He is an American Bully that was surrendered by a breeder along with his brother Oliver at a few weeks old. Both suffered with severe pneumonia and almost didn’t make it. They had 24 hour care in an oxygen chamber and slowly started blossoming. I adopted Big Rig in December 2018. He has 3 Pitbull sisters - Coconut, Sugar & Liberty, that he adores. He has entered several competitions and has won a few, notably Best Smile and Best Wrinkles & 2nd runner up for the LAFD K9 Mascot 2021 He is a joy to everyone he meets and spreads awareness for uniquely abled dogs that they too can live healthy & happy lives.
Cleft lip and palate are birth defects that result from the failure of the roof of the mouth (hard and so1 palates) to close during normal embryological development, thereby leaving a “cleft” in the roof of the mouth. The result is a puppy or kitten whose oral cavity communicates with their nasal passages.
The defect that results can be a very small slit or may be a large opening that extends into the nose.
Most Puppies and kittens are euthanized at birth or pass away from starvaton. They can not suckle. Big Rig was blessed the day he made it to Roadogs. They saved his life. Now he is a healthy, joyful little boy.
