BIO
I’m Lisa Donoho and a high school teacher. My love for dogs was instilled from a very young age. My family and I would spend evenings going through dog books and discussing the different breeds. I originally looked to adopt/purchase a Leonberger, but finding so many wonderful dogs in shelters and rescues, I chose to focus on German Shepherd Dogs. I love their loyalty, intelligence, history, and activity level.
Katrina joined our family originally as a foster in 2015 through Westside German Shepherd Rescue of Los Angeles. She had recent amputation surgery and needed to heal in a home environment. She was too young, 4 months approx., to heal in the rescue environment. At home, she meshed so well with my two other GSDs that I ended up adopting her.
Katrina immediately showed me her athletic ability. I’m not sure if she was trying to keep up with my other two, but she showed me she had determination and skill. Today, she is my ball dog. Loves the ball – chasing and jumping to her heart’s delight. If I’m standing outside talking or doing something other than paying attention to Katrina, she will place the ball in my hand.
