BIO

My name is Alicia Anthony. I’ve been a Kennel Manager at Frosted Faces Foundation for over 2 years, and was a volunteer prior to that. I’ve fostered several dogs for Frosted Faces (including a tripod chihuahua, who has since passed away) - I currently have a chihuahua I adopted from Frosted Faces, who was found as a stray in Tijuana.

Luna Bee entered Humane Society of Imperial County with a badly broken leg. They reached out to us for help and we agreed! The shelter had previously taken Luna Bee to the vet for x-rays and put a splint on her leg. We followed up by having bloodwork done and changing the bandage. We cultured the pressure sore underneath the bandage which came back sensitive to Clavamox, which she was already on! Staff let us know that Luna Bee's leg would not heal with bandage changes, so we should consider amputating it or fusing it. We did decide to amputate her leg because dogs are so resilient and she was already making out to be a successful tripod.

Luna Bee LOVES her toys!! She does the funniest head shake and lets out a bark in excitement when she sees her favorite toy (an avocado) :) Missing a leg doesn’t slow her down at all! She loves life and is always the happiest girl.
